Unconventional Thinking

A friend of mine recently posted on her Facebook profile that her daughter was using Lunchables wrong. She would take a cracker and stack another cracker on it, and then eat it. This struck me as interesting as surely the selling point for Lunchables  is that you can make your combinations any way you wish, even if all you really want to is multiple crackers. I replied to the post saying that her daughter was not eating them incorrectly but she was just enjoying them in a unconventional way.

It is import that we do not ever stifle unconventional thinking. It was a convention that man could not fly, it was a convention that it took several months to travel across the country in order to find new experiences and new opportunities. Now anyone can make the trip in a matter of hours by plane or days by bus. These are conventions that no longer exist because someone thought unconventionally.

Thanks Carissa for the motivation for this post.

  1. Thank you for reminding me: It's the unconventional thinkers who make a difference, not the ones who always eat Lunchables the way they tell us to. :)
